We are looking for an exceptional Risk Advisory Cybersecurity Intern to support the execution of cybersecurity risk, compliance, and maturity engagements while learning how organizations manage and reduce cyber risk.
As a Risk Advisory Intern, you won't just observe-you'll dive into real-world client engagements, support experienced consultants, and learn how cybersecurity strategy, governance, and risk management come together in practice. Application Details: This is a 6-month internship expected to average 20–25 hours per week. Compensation ranges from $10–$15 USD per hour, depending on relevant experience. The internship will begin in May as part of our Summer 2026 Cohort and is designed to run for six months, with the possibility of an extension based on performance and business needs.
What You Will Do:
Gain hands-on experience with security tools, frameworks, and processes
Shadow senior consultants and consultants to understand client interactions and project workflows
Supporting the documentation and review of cybersecurity policies, standards, and procedures
Collaborate on and contribute to client-facing and internal reports and presentations
Learn how to think like a consultant by understanding client strategies, objectives, operations, and risks
Collaborate with a multinational, remote-first team and network with cybersecurity professionals across disciplines
Assisting with cybersecurity risk, control, and maturity assessments aligned to frameworks such as NIST CSF, SOC 2, PCI, ISO, and CMMC
Helping gather, organize, and analyze evidence related to security and compliance controls
Assisting with the development of risk registers, remediation plans, and maturity roadmaps
Gain exposure to incident response plans, tabletop exercises, and business continuity documentation
Participating in internal team meetings to learn engagement planning, risk discussions, and advisory approaches
Assisting leadership with research, proposals, and internal process improvement initiatives
Conducting research on cybersecurity trends, frameworks, and regulatory requirements
Supporting thought leadership efforts, including blog content and internal knowledge sharing
Your Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Strong interest in Risk advisory and a foundational understanding of cybersecurity principles.
Currently pursuing a degree in IT, Cybersecurity, Business, Finance, or a related field
Advanced proficiency in English (verbal and written)
Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects and priorities
Enthusiasm for gaining experience across the cybersecurity continuum
Attention to detail and strong analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages for diverse audiences
Aspiration to work in the cybersecurity industry within the next two years
Availability to work a minimum of 20 hours per week (8 AM–5 PM CST, Monday–Friday)
Authorized to work in Mexico

Preferred Qualifications:
Exposure to security or risk frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, CIS, SOC 2, or PCI
Familiarity with GRC tools or audit/compliance processes
Internship, academic project, or coursework related to cybersecurity, IT risk, or compliance
