Social Media Intern
Inception · Remote · Internship
The Role
We're looking for a Social Media Intern to own Inception's voice across X,
LinkedIn, and more. This is not a content scheduling role. You'll report
directly to the Head of Marketing and interact regularly with the founding team.
You'll be in the room for launch planning, have context on the product roadmap,
and make real-time editorial calls about what to post, when to engage, and how
to respond. The internship is designed to convert to full-time for the right
person.
Hours per week: ~10 hours
Start date: Flexible, April – Sept 2026
Key Responsibilities
* Write and publish social content for Inception's X and LinkedIn accounts
* Monitor AI/ML conversation in real-time and engage on behalf of the company —
responding to mentions, joining relevant threads, and surfacing opportunities
to the team
* Run the social playbook for product launches, partnership announcements,
benchmark results, and events (GTC, NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR)
* Create short-form video content: launch demos, speed comparisons, developer
testimonials, and technical explainers
* Engage the developer community on Discord, Hacker News, and Reddit
Qualifications
* Student (undergrad or grad) in CS, EE, MS&E, Communication, or a related
field. You understand how LLMs work at a conceptual level and can hold a
technical conversation. Open to select recent grads.
* Active on socials. You already follow AI Twitter. You know who Andrej
Karpathy, Swyx, Jim Fan, Andrew Ng, and Artificial Analysis are. You have
opinions about which AI lab has the best social presence and why.
* Strong writer with voice control. You can write a technical thread that earns
respect from developers, Fortune 500 enterprises, AND a punchy launch post
that gets broad engagement.
* Operator, not observer. On launch day, you're not watching from the
sidelines. You're monitoring threads, engaging with developers, making
real-time decisions about what to amplify, activating the Inception team, and
keeping the team momentum going.
* Video and visual skills are a plus. If you can create short-form video
content — demos, speed comparisons, explainers.
* You've built something with an audience. Your own X account, a newsletter, a
podcast, a YouTube channel, a campus publication. Something where you created
content that people engaged with. Show us.
Why this internship?
* Real ownership from day one. You're not writing drafts for someone else to
approve. You will own the accounts. Your judgment, your voice, your calls.
* Direct access to the founding team. You'll work with the Head of Marketing
daily and interact with the founding team regularly. Front-row seat to how a
venture-backed AI company goes to market.
* Help build the function. You'll work with an experienced GTM team to shape
Inception's social presence from the ground up — creating playbooks,
processes, and voice that scale with the company during hypergrowth.
* Category-defining moment. Diffusion for language is a new paradigm. You'd be
helping define how the world understands this technology — from the
researchers that pioneered it.
* Path to full-time. This internship is designed to convert to a full-time
opportunity.

About Us
Inception creates the world’s fastest, most efficient AI models. Today’s
autoregressive LLMs generate tokens sequentially, which makes them painfully
slow and expensive. Inception’s diffusion-based LLMs (dLLMs) generate answers in
parallel. They are 5x faster and more efficient, while delivering best-in-class
quality.
Inception was co-founded by Stanford professor Stefano Ermon
[https://cs.stanford.edu/~ermon/], who co-invented such breakthrough AI
technologies as diffusion models, flash attention, and DPO, UCLA
professor Aditya Grover [https://aditya-grover.github.io/], who co-invented
node2vec, decision transformers, and d1 reasoning, and Cornell professor and
Afresh co-founder Volodymyr Kuleshov [https://www.cs.cornell.edu/~kuleshov/],
who co-invented MDLM and Block Diffusion.
We pioneered the application of diffusion to language, with world’s first (and
only) commercially available dLLM, Mercury. We are currently deploying our
large-scale diffusion LLMs at Fortune 500 companies. Diffusion is the technology
behind today’s image and video AI, and we’re making it the standard for LLMs as
well.
Our team includes engineers from Google DeepMind, Meta AI, Microsoft AI, and
OpenAI. Based in Palo Alto, CA, we are backed by A-list venture capitalists,
including Menlo Ventures, Mayfield, M12 (Microsoft’s venture fund), Snowflake
Ventures, Databricks, and Innovation Endeavors, and by tech luminaries such as
Andrew Ng, Andrej Karpathy, and Eric Schmidt.
If you are talented, innovative, and ambitious, come help us invent the future
of AI.
We are an equal opportunity employer and encourage candidates of all backgrounds
to apply.
