Intern - Site Reliability Engineer (Nameserver and Certificate Management)

Our team focuses on building the most reliable and scalable systems. We are responsible for defining, measuring, publishing, and optimizing Akamai's platform. We take a holistic view of complex systems and identify the measures which matter most to customers. Partnering with multiple teams, we address difficult problems that go beyond having simple answers. As a participant in our program, you will gain valuable experience and contribute through meaningful project work. Start: July 1st Duration: 6 months Salary: 45 PLN gross/h Partner with the best SRE teams use alerts and procedures to detect system changes, ensuring performance, reliability, and capacity. You'll apply big data, distributed systems, and analytical skills to identify improvements and enhance alerting systems. You'll help develop and maintain alerting and analysis tools for system performance monitoring. As a Site Reliability Intern, you will be responsible for: * Working closely with other SREs to develop and implement statistical analytical tools to detect patterns in our existing monitoring and alerting systems * Improving our team's monitoring, alerting and emergency response procedures and maneuvers * Recommending viable technical solutions that improve the effectiveness of the team and reduce technical debt * Monitoring, investigating, and analyzing platform performance and availability by (co)designing, managing, and tracking Akamai's platform-related SLIs/SLOs Do what you love To be successful in this role you will: * Be a current student in Computer science or a related field * Have experience with Linux/Unix-like operating systems * Have experience with programming or scripting such as Python through coursework or personal projects * Have knowledge with on writing queries on relational databases using SQL * Have knowledge about DNS and certificate management * Be interested in building alerting and trend detection tools * Enjoy troubleshooting problems across all layers Work in a way that works for you Our 6-month intern program starts in July. The program requires you to be available 40 hours per week during summer months (July-September). We offer the opportunity to work part-time during the academic year (October-December). This is a flexible role and may be performed at your home and/or the local Akamai office (in the country advertised).
