The Accounting Intern will support our daily operations by supporting data clean-up, review projects, and working to document processes. This role is designed to provide a student or recent grad with hands-on accounting department experience in a distribution company while helping DWC maintain high data accuracy. What are your Duties and Learning Objectives during this Internship? Audit Customer Master Data: Review and update customer profiles in the ERP to ensure billing addresses, tax statuses, and contact information are current and accurate. SO/PO Integrity Review: Investigate aged open orders to determine if they should be invoiced, cancelled, or closed, directly impacting the accuracy of company inventory and revenue records. Function Review: Meet with the Accounting team members and support process documentation or other data-based projects System Hygiene Support: Assist with ad-hoc data cleanup projects to improve reporting accuracy and streamline year-end audit preparation. Gaining of ERP Proficiency: You will exit the program with a foundational understanding of ERP logic; specifically how master data affects financial reporting. This is the right fit for you if you have the following: Business major with at least one foundational accounting course. Strong desire to learn and a “no task is too small” attitude. Attention to detail. Basic knowledge of Google Suite. Excellent Communication skills and the ability to ask clarifying questions. Basic understanding of accounting and accounting information systems.
