Intern - Platform Security Engineering

Build Security Tools That Run at Scale Join our Platform Security Engineering team and help build security tooling that protects production infrastructure across Akamai. As an intern, you'll work on a system in active development that strengthens our ability to detect and respond to security threats at scale. As a participant in our program, you will gain valuable experience and contribute through meaningful project work. Start: July 1st Duration: 6 months Salary: 45 PLN gross/h Partner with the best This internship is designed for students who want hands-on experience building security tools in a production environment. You'll work alongside experienced engineers on a real project writing code that ships, not proof-of-concepts. As a Platform Security Engineering Intern, you will be responsible for: * Implementing new features in a Python-based security system that monitors production hosts * Writing clean, testable code that integrates into an existing codebase * Working with Linux systems, networking protocols, and APIs * Collaborating with the team through code reviews and design discussions * Contributing to a system that is actively used in production your work will have real impact Do what you love To be successful in this role you will: * Be an actively enrolled student in Computer Science or related field * Have solid experience with Python * Be comfortable working with Linux (command line, system basics) * Understand networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS, certificates) * Have experience with Git * Have curiosity, problem-solving skills, and a willingness to learn * Be able to work both independently and as part of a team Work in a way that works for you Our 6-month intern program starts in July. The program requires you to be available 40 hours per week during summer months (July-September). We offer the opportunity to work part-time during the academic year (October-December). This is a flexible role and may be performed at your home and/or the local Akamai office (in the country advertised).
